Philomène Longpré

-----Art is about communication...The core of the question doesn’t really lie in the art discipline from which I started my creative career, the important thing is to choose the most suitable tool or tools through which you can express yourself and communicate in the best way.

Philomène Longrè is a multimedia artist whose works are engaged in exploring the intricate interactions between the physical and the virtual world. Since 1999, her main focus has been the development of Interactive Video Systems. Her artwork juxtaposes robotic video screens, virtual characters, and abstract sound to generate new communication between visitors and their environments. She received her MFA in Art and Technology at The School of Art Institute of Chicago and her BAF at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Philomène Longrè’s systems have been exhibited internationally in Electronic Art Festivals such as FILE Brazile, BUDi South Korea, INTERACTIVE PLAYGROUND United States, NATURALMETE Italy, Nexus Thailand and DISIFEST, FICFA, PROMO Canada.
